A: CDC recommends your cloth mask:
-fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
-be secured with ties or ear loops
-include multiple layers of fabric
-allow for breathing without restriction
-be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape
Most importantly, cloth masks are to be worn in ADDITION TO AND NOT INSTEAD OF engaging in social distancing (i.e., worn in public settings where the recommended distance of 6 ft is difficult to maintain such as the grocery store). Masks are, however, not recommended for children aged < 2 years.
Wearing a cloth mask may help prevent people who have coronavirus but do not know it yet from transmitting it to others.
