A vaccine that prevents cancer? Yes, please!
A recent study shows that rates of cervical cancer deaths in young US women have fallen dramatically for those coming of age since routine HPV vaccination was introduced in 2006. Among women younger than 25, there was an overall 65% decrease in cervical cancer deaths from 2012 to 2019, with a particularly steep decline between 2016-2021. This data is consistent with other countries who have seen dramatic reductions (or elimination) of cervical cancer in younger women after introduction of HPV vaccination.
While this is amazing news, HPV vaccination rates are not as high as they could be in the US. The vaccine is not just for women– HPV also causes most cervical, vaginal, vulvar, penile, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers so is recommended for everyone.
The evidence is clear that #VaccinesWork and literally #SaveLives, even from cancer! We all need #SomeGoodNews these days and this is it!

I am 43 years old. Is it too late for me to get the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine?
