Dr. Rachael Piltch-Loeb is an expert in public health emergency preparedness and response and risk communication, currently focused on issues related to COVID-19. She holds an appointment at both the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health as a Preparedness Fellow and the NYU School of Global Public Health as an associate research scientist. Along with her work on COVID-19, topically she focused on the development of best practices in public health preparedness, response, and risk communication. She received her PhD in public health from NYU, a MSPH from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, and BS from Georgetown University. Rachael is passionate about improving how we communicate in public health emergencies and in times of scientific uncertainty, and improving access to healthcare and wellbeing as a result. She currently lives in New York City with her husband and one year old, where she is an avid online browser and iced coffee drinker (in all seasons).
