Hannah Mestel is a public health and communications leader who thrives on making complex scientific concepts clear, actionable, and accessible. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to empowering individuals and communities with the knowledge they need to make informed health decisions. Whether tackling misinformation or advocating for equitable healthcare access, Hannah’s focus is always on building trust and fostering understanding.
Hannah’s career spans public health, business strategy, and technology product design, with a particular passion for the intersection of communication and implementation science. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as a Pandemic Response Coordinator for a California public school district, leading a team to ensure schools remained safe and operational. She partnered with state and local health authorities to develop policies, introduced innovative technology systems for testing and contact tracing, and crafted transparent communications that strengthened community confidence.
A graduate of Yale School of Public Health (MPH) and Harvard Business School (MBA), Hannah brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and public health expertise to her work. When she’s not immersed in health projects, you can find her participating in community musical theatre, knitting and crocheting cozy creations, or enjoying time with her family—two teenage daughters, two labradoodles, and one very patient husband.
