Kelly Valentin has a passion for psychiatric epidemiology, and her research interests include psychopharmacology, behavioral health, social determinants of mental health outcomes, and psychopathology. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the City University of New York School of Public Health. Before this, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Paul Quinn College and an Associate of Arts from Eastern Gateway Community College.
Her current work examines the intersections of PTSD, intimate partner violence, and substance use. She approaches these issues knowing that trauma is complex, recovery is nonlinear, and change is possible.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Kelly enjoys candle making, gardening, and home improvement projects. Her favorite candle scent is leather and vanilla. Additionally, Kelly takes advantage of sitting on her porch, admiring her plants, and catching up with loved ones.
