Maggie Hayes is a full time student enrolled in her second year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is majoring in both Spanish and Sociology with a certificate in Chicana/o & Latina/o Studies and hopes to use her Spanish skills to work with immigrants along the US-Mexico border after she graduates. After being enrolled in a Spanish immersion program from kindergarten up until college, she can’t imagine not using Spanish in her everyday life. Although residing in Wisconsin, Maggie was born in Michigan and spends all the time she can up north at her cottage on Lake Michigan (her happy place) reuniting with distant friends and family.
