Dr. Lauren Hale is a sleep health researcher and professor in the Program in Public Health at Stony Brook University School of Medicine and serves as Associate Editor and Contributing Writer of Dear Pandemic. She received her MA and PhD from Princeton University in Public Affairs focusing in Population Studies. Hale serves on the Board of Directors of the National Sleep Foundation, and is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Sleep Health. She also serves on the National Scientific Advisory Board for the Children and Screens Institute. Ironically, she is almost always the last in her family to go to sleep due to spending too much time on her laptop. When not in front of a screen, she enjoys gardening, Scrabble, and her two elementary school-aged boys.
