Careful, accurate science takes a lot of time to produce. The need for action in the face of this pandemic doesn’t provide it. Result: We may see frequent guideline revisions (along with a sprinkle of experts temporarily disagreeing amongst each other) as we ride things out.
The good news: Scientific consensus DOES typically emerge.
How to surf the chaos in the interim?
My approach is to regularly (but not obsessively!) check a few trusty news outlets. Two that come immediately to mind are the Kaiser Health News Morning Briefing (a free aggregator) and Stat News (no paywall for COVID-19 articles). Urls below, along with the Advil debate and an expert “sibling squabble” making the rounds re: the optimal societal response to COVID-19.
